MCAT Exam Details

The Medical College Admission Test is a full form of MCAT.  It is developed by the AAMC, is a standardized and multiple-choice examination to help medical school admissions offices assess to solving your problems, critical thinking, and knowledge of natural and behavior. The MCAT is a computer-based test assessing a student on 4 scales such as Biological and Biochemical Foundations of Living Systems; Chemical and Physical Foundations of Biological Systems; Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations of Behavior; and Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills.

Who can take MCAT?

You may take the MCAT if they are as following

  • You are planning to apply a health profession as allopathic and veterinary medicine. This also applies to international students.
  • You are applying to any health-related program that accepts the results of MCAT Exam.
  • You are an MBBA degree program or if you have such a degree
  • During MCAT registration and verify your intention to apply to medical school to a health profession’s school.

MCAT Registration Details

MCAT registration is done online through the Association of American Medical Colleges. We mention that you register early to secure your MCAT test date and location.

Applicants may take the exam up to three times, but the candidate may register for only one test at a time.

The Cost of Applying Fee

Application Fee:

The Application fee is to pay in three categories. That is are following under below:

  • Primary application fee: Most of the medical schools are to process in this application. The application fee of 2018 is $160 for the First school, and the additional school is $39 for each. So be sure to check with the respective medical schools you’re interested in applying to regarding their admissions processes.
  • Secondary Application Fee: The majority of medical schools require a secondary application. The secondary school application fee range is $0 to $150.
  • College Service Fee: There is usually a small fee for transmittal of your transcript from your college registrar, and occasionally a fee for transmittal of letters of recommendation.

The MCAT Exam Cost:

  • The basic registration fee for the MCAT exams is $310 (and $365 for late registration 1–2 weeks before your test date). Information regarding these fees is available on the MCAT website also.

International aspirants: Pursuing or completed MBBS or special request

The AAMC has designed the Medical College Admission Test to be longer. That is, 7 hours and 30 minutes long.
