The results IELTS candidates are graded/banded using a 9 BAND scale. The candidate will be given only ONE Original TRF (Test Report Form). This is a very valuable document and is suggested that you take care in keeping your Test Report Form Secure. IELTS Results / Scores are accepted as proof of your English language skills by more than 9,000 organisations.
IELTS Results
International English Language Testing System (IELTS) provides results for all levels of English. There is no pass or fail in IELTS. You are graded on your performance in the test, using scores from zero to nine for each part of the test – Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. Note: The online system will not display IELTS Results for more than 28 days after your test date.
You can check your IELTS Result online after 13 days of your test on the IELTS result checker page. So candidate will need to provide test date, date of birth, identification document number and candidate number.
IELTS 9-band scale
Each band corresponds to a level of English competence. All parts of the test and the overall band score can be reported in whole & half bands
Band 9: Expert user
Band 8: Very good user
Band 7: Good user
Band 6: Competent user
Band 5: Modest user
Band 4: Limited user
Band 3: Extremely limited user
Band 2: Intermittent user
Band 1: Non-user
Band 0: Did not attempt the test
The validity period of your Test Report Form
Institutions will not usually accept a Test Report Form more than two years. After this time you will need to provide them with evidence that you have maintained or improved your English since taking the test.
Institutions need original copies of your Test Report Form. Photocopies of your Test Report Form will not be accepted. Institutions may be able to view candidates’ scores through the IELTS Test Report Form (TRF) Verification Service.
Please note, if you haven’t received your Test Report Form/Certificate you must report it as lost within 3 months of your IELTS Exam. Officials are unable to issue replacement certificates over 3 months after the date of your test.
